Its a non-profitable herbal project, started in 2017, under Missionary Benedictine Sisters, Nairobi Priory. It is located at Karen Windy ridge, off Ngongroad gate 181.
Historically, Benedictines have a long tradition in herbal medicines. In middle ages, the monks and nuns planted, processed and produced herbs that helped to treat the people around their monastries. The practice slowed down during religious transitions. However, some monastries in Europe and Africa have caried on the old tradition of growing herbs for use as food and medicines.

MAYDS has joined hands with other Christian Church organisations to develop a hollistic teaching ministry on growing, propagating, preparing and using natural medicines. Natural medicinal plants present an alternative response to the needs of the poor. "Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for medicine" Ezekiel 47:12. Pope Francis in his document Laude Si reminds us the mandate and responsibility of care of God's creation.
